The other day Mason fell asleep on the couch,
About an hour later I checked on him, and there was a noticeable difference.

Mason’s favorite thing to sleep with is his Daddy Pillow so Kyle had gotten it for him.
The next day, Kyle fell asleep on the floor,

so Mason decided to be sweet and return the favor.

Potty training is still a struggle. I tried having Mason teach Dolly-doll, but after he was done Mason decided that Dolly-doll was sick and needed to lay down.

The other day he played with Alanna and learned how much fun the monkey bar on his swingset is. Also, I absolutely adore when he puts his shirt on backwards because I know it won’t be too much longer till that stops happening.

Pushing Kyle on the swing.

Kyle is my daredevil baby. I swear that boy has no fear. Which is why he’s always covered with bruises. You can’t really tell, but in this pic he actually had bruises on both cheeks. The right cheek was from falling against the coffee table and the left was from trying to walk down the stairs.

He eats at the counter like a big boy.

*note that Mason is eating his foot behind Kyle, even though his peanut butter and jelly is right there.
Chillin in the sled while wearing his swimsuit just begged to be photographed.

Silliness with the Cornell cousins

Some of you may have noticed this on my Facebook yesterday. Yesterday was fifteen years from the day that Mike and I met so being the sentimental cornball that I am I put together a slideshow. I was also afforded the opportunity to use the phrase “you mean after fifteen years you don’t know…?” in regards to the manner that I drink my chocolate milk. Apparently Mike was unaware that I drink my chocolate milk with the mixing spoon still in the glass. Don’t ask me why because I have no idea. Anyway, here’s the slide show.
My friend Liz recently mentioned that she hasn’t been out to my blog in ages and is therefore way behind with what is going on with me and mine. But this poor little blog hasn’t been touched in two months. And my other blog, well I don’t think that’s been touched this year.
I miss them. I never feel like I have the time to formulate my thoughts so I don’t even bother coming here. I’m no Seinfeld. I can’t write about nothing, though this post is pretty close.
We read every night before bed. Dr. Suess has become something of a favorite around here. To the point that occassionally we are the ones being “read” to.
Well we made it down to the land of the mouse and back again safely enough. This was not as easy a task as it should have been because of the freaking “blizzard” that hit North Carolina on up the East Coast. Since it hit overnight while we were stopped in Fayetteville (where we didn’t get any snow) we decided to stay put for an extra day. Which was a good call. Tuesday when we got back on the road we made a sick little game of counting the cars on the sides of the road. They had either skidded their way there or wrecked their way there and it just made us feel good about our decision to take our time.
I expected driving to be the worst part of the trip but there definitly times when it was just fine.

Though I must confess that having just upgraded Mason from a carseat to a boosterseat had me a bit twitchy. But he was most insistant that he wanted a big boy seat and it really does make getting in and out of the car so much easier.
When we finally arrived in Florida there was a “welcoming committee”.

The boys fed the ducks Combos but were afraid of this one,

I got to meet one of my online friends and her wonderful little boy.

Obviously we went to Disney

We rode Dumbo

We hung out with some princesses

We watched some fireworks

Oh yeah, they gave the boys swords…

Kyle had his first lollipop

And we went out to eat and celebrated Ethan’s and my birthdays

That’s about it. For now at least. I have to see what pics are on the other camera but since I have to be up for work in about three and a half hours that’s all you’re getting tonight.
An update! Complete with pictures! We just got back home yesterday evening but the update and pics are coming!
Well, Mason is officially three. Of course he’s been passing for three for the better part of six months. Much to Mike’s and my chagrin but for different reasons. Mike is just hoping that Mason will say that he’s still two at Disney so we don’t have to pay for him to get in. I just don’t want him to be that big yet. Doesn’t look like either of us will be getting what we want.
His birthday was small this year. None of Mike’s family made it and only half of mine so there was actually space for people to sit and whatnot. And WAY too much cake.

Oh, how the tissue did fly...

He refuses to actually ride this.

And of course I can’t forget our cake. We get the best cakes. They taste awesome and she does the designs freehand. So this year we gave her a picture of a chartoon character that Mason is particularly fond of called Super Why. Well, being done freehand the cake didn’t turn out exactly like the picture. Instead of looking like Super Why it looked more like Jimmy from South Park but with a lazy eye. We didn’t care. It still tasted and looked awesome.
